Welcome to Marus Photography
Hi I'm Maruu... I am a 20-year-old photographer from Harare, Zimbabwe. Sport has played a significant role in my life providing me with countless opportunities that I may not have had without it. Here is a quick summary:
On a cricket scholarship, I attended Lilfordia School from 2015-16 and moved onto Falcon College on a Hockey and Cricket scholarship from 2017-22. These were the best years of my life as I made some lasting memories, and I had the opportunity to express myself as a sportsman doing what I loved, playing cricket in the summer and hockey in winter. It was up until October 2020 when I was diagnosed with septic arthritis in my hips that the dream of playing sport was shattered!
I was off sport and in recovery for almost 2 years and it was in this period when I picked up a camera and learnt how to take photos. What started as a means to cope quickly turned into a passion capturing the very moments that make sports thrilling.
Now a few years later, I have shot in various sports in various schools in the course of the year and managed to shoot some International Cricket matches such as the Zimbabwe vs India Series in June 2024 as well as the Zim Afro T10 League.
